Environmental and Sustainability Policy
R-MAR Resort and Spa is a 4-star resort and spa located in Patong Beach, Phuket. It offers resort-style accommodation with spa and fitness services for relaxation and wellness, along with family-friendly facilities. Under the theme “Relaxing and Touching with Greenery” the hotel provides a variety of room types, from Superior Rooms to Suite Rooms with private balconies, suitable for leisure stays and tourism activities.
The hotel operates under the ESG concept: Environment, Social, and Governance, with a strong commitment to developing and managing the business in accordance with international standards for environmentally friendly and sustainable hotels.
This supports Thailand’s sustainable tourism development policy.
The operational guidelines are as follows:
- Comply with all relevant laws and regulations at local, national, and international levels, covering health, safety, labor, and environmental aspects, including wildlife protection.
- Develop and manage the hotel business in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner, considering environmental, social, cultural, economic, quality of life, human rights, health, safety management, as well as risk and crisis management.
- Establish short, medium, and long-term sustainability management goals.
- Communicate sustainability policies, operations, and performance to stakeholders, including customers.
- Promote a positive working environment and support employee health care and social security.>
- Encourage employee participation in sustainability management systems.
- Implement environmentally friendly procurement, support local entrepreneurs, and promote income distribution to communities.
- Define measures for resource and energy management, transportation systems, water and wastewater management, waste and food waste management, greenhouse gas management, hazardous substance management, occupational health and safety, as well as noise and pollution control.
- Operate with consideration for biodiversity conservation by selecting local plants for landscaping and minimizing impact on natural ecosystems.
- Design buildings with energy efficiency and environmental friendliness in mind, including sustainable landscape management.
- Support local employment, promote community-based tourism, and participate in sustainable tourism planning and management, including preservation of local cultural heritage.
- Consider economic and quality-of-life aspects without negatively impacting local ways of life, and support initiatives addressing climate change impacts.
- Uphold human rights, oppose exploitation, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and all forms of abuse, especially involving children, youth, women, minorities, and vulnerable groups.
- Monitor, evaluate, and review action plans in line with sustainability policies and goals to continuously improve effectiveness.
